Summary: For twenty years, the official history has told readers that Harry Potter died at the Battle of Hogwarts. The next edition is going to require some significant revisions.
Why you should read this: this was wonderful! i loved it very much. the slow build of trust and camaraderie between harry and draco (and the love, of course), the way they all worked together to get harry out, the casual killing a couple of times a week (!!!) which had me laugh out loud so many times, and also just shake my head in general, the potterites (omg). i had to shed a few tears at the end there, as it was simply too lovely all around. i adore it.

fic: all the important words unspoken

Title: All the Important Words Unspoken
Author: [livejournal.com profile] blamebrampton
Recipient: nerak_rose
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, Hermione/Ron, Astoria Greengrass/the Magna Carta
Rating: PG
Word Count: 73,500
Warnings: none
Summary: Narcissa Malfoy and Amarantha Greengrass just want what’s best for their children. But since it’s 1899, their children are 32 and 27 respectively, and sundry magical and Muggle crises are erupting across Europe, the chances of their plans progressing smoothly are close to zero.

Why you want to read this: giftfic aside, THIS IS AMAZING. have you ever wanted to read a victorian mannerpunk crime novel starring a social justice warrior, a scientist and a cop, that is distinctly not a love triangle, and also gay? and featuring harry, draco and astoria? WELL THIS IS IT. i love everything about this - from astoria's unapologetic activism to the slowest cart chase in history, Horace the bird, all the awkwardness that comes with being gay in 1899, hermione being a storm in combat boots, i just. i love everything. it's funny and sweet and utterly lovely. (also, this fic has 'women getting shit done' written all over it. while harry and draco are on the slowest cart chase in history of ever, astoria and hermione are Getting Shit Done. it's brilliant. (and rather subtly done, i think.))

i've thought about this fic every day since i read it, and occasionally gone back to it to re-read parts that i loved. this is going to stay with me for a while. i'm so happy - you know that feeling when you come across fic that is just so well written and perfect in every aspect, and you just want to sink into it and stay there forever because it feels a little like nothing can ever be as good as this? yeah.

do yourself a favour and read this. it's a gem. a shining diamond. a goddamn arkenstone. I HAVE TOO MANY FEELINGS.

fic: doing the lambeth walk

Doing the Lambeth Walk by [livejournal.com profile] blamebrampton
Summary: There are only three traditional choices for the cashed-up hero after victory. Harry Potter is too young to settle down and provide the wizarding world with a happy ending, and has too acute a sense of humour to spiral downwards into a spectacular flame-out. That leaves a life of good works. Choosing to lead it in Muggle Brixton comes with its own set of challenges, including Malfoys in the biscuit aisle.

Why you want to read this: It's a lovely read. It's sweet, with subtle humour and isn't overly Perfect (that saying, Harry isn't flawless, he's just getting by). Draco is wonderful.
